Great sushi, good service, and a nice atmosphere in a tiny shop. The owners are so friendly. Will be going back.

3.5 stars rounded up. We were actually suppose to go close-by for Mexican but the wait was too much with a newborn so we went with our usual Friday staple -- sushi! My handy Yelp pointed us in this direction so we decided to give it a try. This is a pretty small place with a 2-person team (1 server and 1 sushi chef on a Friday evening) and if I didn't have the GPS on, I would've totally missed it. I think there is only about 5 tables (2 4-tops and 3 deuces) that are truly being used for customers to dine in. Honest feedback and here goes -- this place does cooked dishes pretty well and the maki rolls (Shogun and Volcano we ordered) were pretty decent. We had the fried oyster, crispy chicken and the hamachi kama and really enjoyed them. As for Sashimi Deluxe we ordered, it was okay...some of it tasted too cold too me, like it was still semi-frozen. Overall though, I would visit again but be more particular about what to order. If you stick with the above mentioned, you will not be disappointed!

Super friendly waitstaff that quickly answered any questions. The location, while very convenient to access, was a bit worn looking (building wise) but altogether clean and appealing. On the lunch special the miso soup and salad were quite good. The maki and sushi variety were all tasty and fresh. I'd definitely eat here again.

The restaurant is located on a busy street with street parking and a municipal parking lot across the street. The interior is very nice and cozy. The service was great when we went on a Saturday night, we are surprised it wasn't busy. They seem to getany takeout orders. Our orders came out quickly. Appreciate the extra details using beautiful dishes. The Sugoi Braintree roll is so good, definitely recommend it! The All Day Combo is a great deal that includes a bowl of miso soup. The quality of the sushi is great here and we're satisfied with the overall experience.

Sushi rice is excellent. Fish is super fresh fresh texture and flavor. We took out while on weekend trip for hockey combine. Both my son and myself enjoyed it. Looks more like take out place although that's just a guess. Know when we're back next year or before then we'll be back. If your local give it a try

My sister in law lives down the street, she has very high standards so I trust her when she raves about Sugoi! She always orders us the best sushi platter for gatherings! We're a big family so it's always best to order the 30 piece platter! My favorite was the spider maki(I think) there was so many rolls but that one caught my eye! It had lettuce, soft shell crabs that were crunchy perfection! It worked well with the slivers of refreshing cucumbers and the spicy mayo drizzle! I scarfed down the whole roll! I got so full! Unfortunately they don't have my favorite appetizer- crab Rangoon. I can't wait to order from them again or actually go there, their teas look cute! I actually catered an event next to them! Very friendly and professional! I heard they also are connected to circle in Weymouth! I'm excited to try both in person at their restaurants!

Small place but packs a punch.Interiors are cozy. Seating area is bit small so suited mainly for smaller groups of 4 or less. Took a takeout ordered on their website. Food was delicious. We ordered the Hawaiian Maki, Stake Bomb Maki and the Mango-cucumber Maki. Overall a bit pricey...but definitely a good Japanese option in South Shore

This was my second visit in the last couple of years, but first review! Usually a spot we pick to get convenient sushi fast. My partner and I ordered a tricolor don (donburi rice bowl), and tricolor spicy maki - TASTE: 4/5 - the sushi (tuna, salmon, and yellowtail) is solid, though not even a little bit spicy in my opinion PRICE: 4/5 - comparable to other sushi spots, both selections were $18 SERVING SIZE: 3/5 - the rice in the donburi was pretty lacking SERVICE: 4/5 - ordered online and picked up my sushi on time 25min later ATMOSPHERE: 4/5 - never dined in before, but the space seems small and cozy PARKING: 4/5 - usually at least a few free spots on/across the street!

Avid sushi patron--and for me, it's all about fresh fish! You can tell the difference since taste doesn't lie. I think Monique & the crew at Sugoi work hard to keep a high standard because every time I go there, the fish is *always* fresh. Random Monday Lunch? Fresh. Friday Night Dinner? Fresh. Takeout Wednesday Afternoon? Fresh. The day and time do not matter because the food is super consistent. That's hard for a typical restaurant, let alone a sushi joint. Pros: Food quality is top-notch...The menu is varied, so you're not limited to just sushi...Good value...and the crew that owns Sugoi run it, and they care about every detail. Sashimi is always higher quality than I expect to get at that price point...Foie Gras is the best item on the menu so it's a must-try. Cons: I wish it were a bit larger in terms of square footage...Uni is my favorite item on the menu, but sometimes that's out given the demand (the order that early)... Also, I keep spilling soy sauce like once every ten visits or so. Not really a "Con" I'm just taking a minute to vent... If I can't nitpick about the food, I have to give it a perfect score. 5/5...Oh, one more thing...they recently added a liquor license in the Summer of 2022

Love finding new to-go spots now that we've moved to the south shore area. The host/waitress is very pleasant and welcoming. It is a small restaurant so would not recommend big parties. Plenty of street parking. Was craving for some hand rolls and this place satisfied my cravings.
